President, PM mourn Attorney General’s death

In his message, the president said Mahbubey Alam had shown extraordinary skills in handling Bangabandhu’s murder cases and crimes against humanity

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of Attorney General and senior lawyer Mahbubey Alam.

In a condolence message, the president said Mahbubey Alam had shown extraordinary skills in handling Bangabandhu's murder cases and crimes against humanity. 

"He was a first-rate fighter in establishing the rule of law. His death is an irreparable loss in the legal arena of Bangladesh," he added.

In a separate condolence message, Sheikh Hasina said the nation would always remember the contribution of Mahbubey Alam in the legal arena of the country.

She further said as a reputed lawyer, he had played a very efficient role in many matters of national importance and had always been engaged in the legal profession, which would remain something as worth following.

Both the president and the prime minister prayed for the salvation of the soul of the deceased and conveyed their deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.
