The Minister of Road Transport and Bridges and General Secretary of the Bangladesh Awami League Obaidul Quader has said that there has been positive progress on talks over sharing water of common rivers including the Teesta.
The minister made the remarks at a farewell courtesy call by the high commissioner of India to Bangladesh, Riva Ganguly Das, at the secretariat on Monday.
Thanking the Government of India on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for financing infrastructure and road development programmes under an Indian loan scheme, Quader said, "Friendly relations between Bangladesh and India are multidimensional."
At the same time, the minister said, "Any problem can be solved easily if there are good relations and mutual understanding between neighboring countries. The solution of long-standing problems such as border issues and enclave exchanges are such examples."
