A Jubo League leader was hacked to death and two activists were critically injured after unidentified miscreants attacked them with lethal weapons in the Jahurul Nagar area of Bogura town on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Feroz Ahmed. The two injured -- Mashiur Rahman and Emran Hossain were admitted to the Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

The deceased Feroz Ahmed and his three friends were playing cards at a mess in the area when they were attacked by a gang of 14/15 miscreants with sharp weapons. The injured Firoz Ahmed was declared dead when he was brought to the hospital, said Additional Superintendent of Police (media) and Officer-in-Charge Sanaton Chakrabarti of the Bogura Sadar Police Station.

Bogra District Jubo League President Md Aminul Islam Dablu said that the attack was carried out over a dispute about fish farming in a pond, according to a claim by the family members of Feroze Ahmed.

Those involved in the attack have been identified and several teams of police have already started work to arrest them, said Sanaton Chakrabarti.
