Hefazat to hold Ulema Mashayekh Conference in Dhaka on 28 Oct

Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh has announced holding the National Ulema Mashayekh Conference in Dhaka on 28 October demanding the release of imprisoned alems and withdrawal of "fake cases" against them.

The announcement came after a meeting of the organisation at Jamiya Islamia Azizul Ulum Madrasa in Chattogram's Fatikchhari on Thursday (21 September).

Apart from this, the organisation has decided to form district, upazila, and metropolitan committees nationwide and convene conferences in every district. 

Secretary General Allama Shaikh Sajedur Rahman made the announcements following the meeting.  Hefazat Amir Allama Shah Muhibullah Babunagari chaired the meeting.

"We will hold the National Ulema Mashayekh Conference in Dhaka on 28 October. However, the specific venue has not been determined yet. The venue and timing will be finalised later subject to the permission from the administration," Azizul Haque Islamabadi, joint secretary of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, told The Business Standard.

Hefazat leader Allama Mufti Khalilur Ahmad Qasemi, Maulana Mahfuzul Haq, Allama Salah Uddin Nanupuri, Mufti Jasim Uddin, Maulana Abdul Awal, Dr Ahmad Abdul Quader, Maulana Sarwar Kamal Azizi, Maulana Junaid Al Habib, Maulana Mohiuddin Rabbani, Maulana Khurshid Alam Qasemi, Maulana Abdul Quddus Qasemi, Mufti Habibur Rahman Qasemi, Mufti Mubarak Ullah were also present at the meeting.
