Awami League and its front organisations are on alert to prevent infiltration of any controversial person, Quader says

The Bangladesh Awami League has prepared a list of intruders keeping its national council ahead. The intruders will be left out in each council in the district level.

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader told this to the media following a meeting of the party's central working committee at the party president's political office in Dhanmondi on Thursday.

"The Awami League and its front organisations are on alert to prevent infiltration of any controversial person. Sheikh Hasina came up with the list of intruders with the help of our own people and detective agencies. The list has already been sent to the district offices," Quader said.

The front organisations will use the list before their councils so that people in the list can be left out.

"The district offices will also get instructions to follow the party's constitution before forming committees. The instructions will be sent today," Quader added.

Obaidul Quader said Awami League central committee gave Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina full support in her ongoing drive to purge the intruders.

Answering a question regarding the BNP's accusations, Quader said, "BNP wouldn't like this. They were world champions in corruption for five times. The government's ongoing drive against corruption is getting appreciation from both inside and outside of Bangladesh."

While answering another question, he hoped that the number of accidents will come down once the new road transport act is implemented.
