64 municipalities to go to polls 30 January in third phase

Elections to sixty-four municipalities in various districts will be held on 30 January next year, in the third phase of the forthcoming municipal polls across the country. 

Those who are interested to vie for the elections can submit their nomination papers till 31 December. 

The Election Commission on Monday declared the schedule of these elections. 

According to the election schedules, nominations will be selected on 3 January and candidacy can be withdrawn within 10 January. 

The election schedules for the first and second phases of the municipal polls have already been declared. The first phase election to 25 municipalities will be held on 28 December, while second phase elections to 61 municipalities will be held on 16 January.
