5 Jubo Adhikar Parishad men detained from Press Club area

Police have detained five leaders and activists of Jubo Adhikar Parishad from Press Club area today when they tried to stage a protest over Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bangladesh visit.
Akram Hossain, general secretary of Dhaka University Students' Rights Organisation, has confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
Police also dispersed the protesters from the area.
"We took five people in custody as they tried to stage a protest on the road, through which important state guests will move," said Ramna Zone Deputy Commissioner Sazzadur Rahman.
Islamist and left-leaning parties have been protesting over past few days across the country against Narendra Modi's visit.
Leaders and activists of the Hefazat-e-Islam clashed with police and ruling Awami League men on Friday in Dhaka, Chattogram and Brahmanbaria, when they were barred from protesting Modi's visit. At least five people were killed and dozens injured during the clashes.
Narendra Modi arrived in Dhaka on 26 March on a two-day state visit to join the ongoing celebration of "Mujib Borsho", the centenary of birth of Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman that coincides with the country's 50th anniversary of independence.
