Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday expressed satisfaction with the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) for completing the investigation into Nusrat murder quickly.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also thanked Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammad Javed Patwary. She said the PBI investigation has made it possible for the court to award the maximum punishment to all the accused.

Banaj Kumar Majumder, deputy inspector general of police and chief of the PBI told The Business Standard, "We are satisfied with such a verdict. The PBI had tried to complete the investigation of the sensational murder case in quickest time possible."

Nusrat was set on fire on April 6 on the roof of her madrasa, allegedly by people loyal to principal SM Siraj-ud-Doula whom she had accused of sexually harassing her.
