PM orders legal action against those going abroad with fake academic certificates

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ordered the authorities concerned to identify those who are going abroad with fake academic certificates and bring them under the law.

The prime minister gave the order in a cabinet meeting on Monday (4 September), Cabinet Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain said in a press briefing at the secretariat.

The prime minister came up with the order although the issue was not part of the meeting's agenda.

Mahbub Hossain said, "Many people carry fake certificates when they go abroad- fake doctor, engineer certificates, etc. The prime minister has ordered [authorities] to identify them and bring them under the law."

The prime minister has also ordered authorities concerned to take similar actions against those who assist in making these fake certificates, the cabinet secretary added.
