PM mourns deaths of 43 people in Delhi fire

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today expressed deep condolence over a horrific fire in the Indian capital of New Delhi yesterday that claimed lives of 43 people.

In a condolence message, the prime minister termed the blaze as a tragic incident and extended her heartfelt sympathies to the family members of the deceased.

She prayed to almighty to give the members of their families the fortitude to bear this misfortune and wished the injured a quick recovery to their normal life.

Sheikh Hasina thanked the Indian leadership for taking urgent measures regarding the rehabilitation of the victims and their families.

She also reiterated that Bangladesh will always remain prepared to be with India with a cooperative mindset at such heartbroken situations.

At least 43 people were killed and scores others injured, mostly labourers, when a fire raged through a handbag-manufacturing factory in Aanaj Mandi area in New Delhi in the early hours of yesterday.
