A speech-impaired woman was shoved out of a bus in Keraniganj upazila of Dhaka on Sunday after she failed to pay the fare.

A video of the incident at Rohitpur of the Keraniganj area went viral on the Internet, showing that the woman was thrown out of an N Mollik bus that runs on the Gulistan-Nawabganj route. The woman fell face down on the ground.

She told people present there by writing that no bus takes fare from her but the N Mollik bus conductor demanded fare. She had no money and could not pay the fare, and they pushed her off the bus.

Kazi Mainul Islam, officer-in-charge of Keraniganj Police Station, told The Business Standard that he came to know about the incident through social media. The police are investigating the matter but yet to trace the bus.

However, police sources said the driver and helper of the bus have been identified – the driver's name is Sobuj Mia and the helper Hasan.
