Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury said the Proton automobile is one of the best examples of Bangladesh's domestic industry expansion.

"PHP is a well-reputed company in making cars with a fair price for all, which is a challenge in the automobile industry," he said while inaugurating PHP Motor Fest-2021 in the port city Chattogram on Sunday.

With the slogan of "Amader Rastai, Amader Gari", a six-day-long automobile festival is going on at PHP house in the city's Agrabad area.

Sufi Mizanur Rahman, chairman of PHP Group, and Mahbubul Alam, president of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry also spoke on the occasion.
Akhtar Parvez, chief executive of PHP automobiles, said PHP's locally assembled talking car 2021 model "X-70 SUV", drew attention from visitors and potential buyers in the fair.
The talking cars can adopt the comment of the driver by voice message.
PHP Automobiles launched the country's first voice-activated car in early 2020, he said, adding that the automobile company is planning to bring electric vehicles very soon.
After a good response from buyers in terms of technology and modern car models, they changed the exterior with advanced technology in all of their models, he added.
PHP, a Chattogram-based industrial giant, assembles Malaysian Proton cars in Bangladesh and has become famous among corporate organisations.

Proton Saga 2021 model, Proton persona, and Proton X-70 are being displayed at the fest. For spot booking, they offer a 10% discount with a five-year warranty.

Meanwhile, PHP cars first hit the market in mid-2017 with the launch of the 2017 Proton Saga model.

The company has already successfully marketed six models of the Proton Brand from Malaysia, such as Proton New Saga, Proton Saga MC, Proton Preve, Proton Persona, Proton Exora and Proton X-70 (Microbus).

Currently, PHP has showrooms in Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet. They plan to have exhibition halls in all major divisions and districts of the country in phases.

The PHP factory, located in Sagarika of Chattogram city, can manufacture 1,200 vehicles in one year. The company suspended its production due to the pandemic and has now resumed operation.

The automobile festival, hosted by the Chattogram-based conglomerate, will pull the curtains on Friday (26 November).
