Photojournalist Mizanur’s family gets Tk50,000 from shipping state minister

State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury MP has extended cash assistance of Tk 50,000 to the family of late M Mizanur Rahman Khan, senior joint general secretary of Bangladesh Photo Journalists Association and senior photo journalist (photographer) of Daily Bangladesh Khabar.

Mizanur Rahman Khan died Wednesday, leaving behind his wife, a son and a daughter. He was buried in the cemetery next to the Rayer Bazar Graveyard on the day.

The money was paid today by the Senior Information Officer of the Ministry Jahangir Alam Khan. He handed over the money to the family at the residence of the deceased at Jigatala in Dhanmondi.

Mahidur Rahman Khan, younger brother of the late, said "my brother had kidney complications. In the morning, he went to the booth at Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU) to give samples for corona test due to fever for several days. When he fell ill there, he was taken to the hospital. Doctors said he might have died of a heart attack."

As part of professional responsibilities, Mizanur Rahman Khan has assisted in capturing and disseminating photographs of various development activities of the Ministry of Shipping and its subordinate Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) and Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC).
