Authorities have resumed ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route after an 11 hours shutdown due to dense fog.

Since the ferry services have become normal, waiting vehicles have started crossing the busiest Paturia-Daulatdia route. Ferry service resumed from 10 am today.

Earlier, the ferry service was suspended from 11pm on Monday due to heavy fog, said Zillur Rahman, deputy general manager, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Aricha office.

BIWTC authorities suspended the service on the Paturia-Daulatdia route to avoid accidents as the ferry's marking lights became dim as the fog thickened on Sunday evening.

Later, when the fog subsided around 10 am, the ferry service was resumed.

Hundreds of vehicles are waiting to cross the ferry route at both the ferry terminal areas as the ferry service had been closed for a long time.
