Paltan OC suspended
OC of Paltan police station has been suspended for misconduct and violating service rules
Mahmudul Haque, officer in charge (OC) of Paltan police station has been suspended for misconduct and violating service rules.
Deputy Commissioner (media division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Masudur Rahman confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
Earlier this year, a woman filed complaints with the police headquarters and DMP headquarters, claiming that OC Mahmudul had allegedly forced her into an extra-marital affair.
She also mentioned in the complaint that Mahmudul had invited her to Dhaka on September 21 last year, with the promise of a job, and then forcibly took her to the Capital residential hotel in Paltan.
"On that day, he forced me to go with him to a room in the hotel and gave me a glass of juice to drink. After a few hours I found myself in a bed with him and I had been sexually assaulted. He also recorded videos and photos of that moment," she added in the complaint.
After receiving the complaint, DMP formed a probe body to investigate the matter.
The probe body led by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Sabujbagh zone, Monalisa Begum, conducted the investigation and found the OC guilty of the charges.
She submitted the probe report to the DMP headquarters.
On September 25, DMP headquarters sent the report to police headquarters with a recommendation for punishment.
