All union parishad chairmen in Pabna Sadar upazila have pledged that they will not get involved with corruption over the distribution of relief materials amid the coronavirus crisis.

Local legislator Golam Farook Prince administered the oath taking at a views-exchange meeting held on Sadar upazila parishad ground on Thursday. 

The meeting was arranged aiming at finding ways to tackle the Covid-19 situation. 

All UP chairmen of the upazila vowed to operate relief distribution programmes with honesty. 

Pointing out that the government has adopted a zero tolerance policy towards embezzlement of public relief materials amid the coronavirus crisis, Golam Farooq, MP warned of taking stern legal action against anyone if found guilty of corruption or nepotism in the relief distribution process. 

Pabna Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Joinal Abedeen, Upazila Chairman Mosharraf Hossain, and some of the UP chairmen, among others, spoke at the meeting.
