Onion trader fined in Chattogram
They were fined for selling the onions imported from Egypt and China at a higher price than the fixed price

A mobile court of Chattogram District Administration has fined Mahin Enterprise from the Khatunganj wholesale market with Tk20,000 for selling imported onions at a higher price than what was fixed.
Executive Magistrate Touhidul Islam conducted the raid on Wednesday.
Touhidul Alam said, "The onions are imported at Tk40-45 per kg from Egypt and China, which are expected to be sold at Tk50 per kg. However, Mahin Enterprise is selling them at a higher price. Besides, they could not show the LC papers either."
"The drives in Teknaf and Cox's Bazar onion markets are underway. That is why the onions imported from Myanmar are being sold at a low price. A big shipment of onions by S Alam Group will soon reach the port. The mobile court will also operate in the retail markets from tomorrow," he added.
