One held with 8 gold bars from Satkhira border

Acting on a tip-off, a BGB team conducted a drive at the border adjacent to Bhomra land port

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained a man with eight gold bars, weighing 993 grams, from Lakkhidari border in Satkhira on Thursday.

The detainee was identified as Alam, 22, hailing from Lakkhidari village, said Lt Col Mohammad Golam Mohiuddin Khandakar, commanding officer of BGB-33 Battalion.

Acting on a tip-off, a BGB team conducted a drive at the border adjacent to Bhomra land port and recovered the gold bars worth Tk40.8 lakh, said Lt Col Mohiuddin.
