The three-day Eid-ul-Azha holiday ended on Sunday. From today (Monday) all public and private offices, courts, secretariats, all business establishments including banks are opening.

This time there was only one day Eid holiday because Friday and Saturday are already weekly holidays. Only the second day of Eid (Sunday) was a holiday. There were no extra holidays considering the damage Covid-19 outbreak has cost. As a result, all government employees have to join the office on Monday.

State Minister for Public Administration, Farhad Hossain, told the media on Sunday, "The office will open from Monday. Everything will continue as it did before Eid, until further notice."

During the Eid-ul-Azha holiday, government officials and employees had to stay in the work station area under the direction of the government. On the other hand, garment workers were also instructed to stay in Dhaka. As a result, they could not go home this time.

However, most of the private workers have gone home with extra leave along with Eid holidays. As a result, they may join the workplace later.

For now, Dhaka is going to return to its old form from Monday.

Meanwhile, according to the custom, every year on the first working day after the Eid holiday, the officials and employees of the Secretariat, including the ministers and secretaries, exchange Eid greetings with each other. But this time it is not happening because of the pandemic. However, government offices are being run with only 25 percent officers and employees.
