Akhtar, wife of the bank’s former chairman professor Abul Barakat, passed away last Saturday
The Board of Directors of Janata Bank Limited has expressed deep shock and condolences over the death of professor Sahida Akhtar, wife of the bank's former chairman professor Abul Barakat.
Dr Akhtar, who was diagnosed with cancer, died at her residence last Saturday, the bank said in a press statement on Thursday.
Mahfuzur Rahman, chairman of Janata Bank conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family in a condolence message on the day.
Md Abdus Salam Azad, managing director and CEO of the bank said the void created in the medical field by the death of Dr Sahida Akhtar is not going to be easily filled.
