Abdul Hannan served as chairman of National Board of Revenue and deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank

Former secretary, Chairman of Diganta Media Corporation and Ibn Sina Trust Shah Abdul Hannan passed away on Wednesday morning at Ibn Sina hospital of old age complications.

"He suffered from cardiac arrest several times after getting admitted in the hospital and also lost his memory, "said his personal secretary Tofazzal Hossain.

Shah Abdul Hannan breathed his last at the hospital in the morning.

His first namaz-e-janaza will be held at Dhanmondi Eidgah Mosque and he will be buried at Shajahanpur after his second namaz-e-janaza at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.

Abdul Hannan served as chairman of National Board of Revenue and deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank.

He was the founder vice chancellor of Darul Ihsan University, North South University, and the director of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd.

He is survived by his two children, three brothers and many well-wishers.
