“Chehlum” and “Doa Mahfil” of ZH Sikder held

"Chehlum" and "Doa Mahfil" of late freedom fighter, prominent industrialist and chairman of Sikder Group and National Bank Limited Zainul Haque Sikder was held on Monday after Zohr prayers, on the premises of Zainul Haque Sikder Women's Medical College and Hospital at Rayer Bazaar in the city.
Leaders of different political parties, activists, dignitaries and people from different walks of life attended the programme which included former commerce minister Tofail Ahmed; State Minister for the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid; Lawmaker Tajul Islam, Aslamul Haque and Sadek Khan; and former State Minister Abdullah Al Islam Jakob along.
Late Zainul Haque Sikder's wife Monowara Sikder along with her family members greeted everyone during the program.
More than 30,000 people attended the Chehlum and Doa mahfil and prayed for the salvation of the departed soul,
Prominent industrialist and freedom fighter Zainul Haque Sikder passed away at a hospital in Dubai on February 10 this year.
