Obaidul Quader admitted in CCU, condition now stable

General Secretary of Awami League and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges, Obaidul Qader was admitted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University on Friday morning.

He admitted as he was having trouble breathing, reported Somoy News.

"The AL general secretary was admitted to BSMMU at 10:30am with breathing problems," Abu Naser, public relations officer of the Road Transport and Bridge Ministry told UNB.

"Quader's blood pressure had gone up but it became normal later," he added.

Quoting doctors at the BSMMU, Naser said, "As Quader is a heart patient, they're examining him... his condition is normal now."

The minister was diagnosed with three blocks in his coronary arteries in March last year.On emergency, a Mount Elizabeth Hospital air ambulance flew Quader to Singapore for better treatment.

On March 20, 2019, the minister's bypass surgery was conducted successfully in Singapore's Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
