Nusrat murder: High Court receives death references

The Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal of Feni sent the 2327-page case dockets.
The death references of all the 16 convicts in the Nusrat Jahan Rafi murder case reached the High Court today.
Mohammad Saifur Rahman, the special officer of the High Court Division, confirmed the matter to The Business Standard on Tuesday.
The Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal of Feni sent the 2327-page case dockets.
On October 24, Judge Mamunur Rashid of the court announced death penalty to the 16 people.
The death row convicts also have to pay a fine of Tk1 lakh each.
While talking to reporters, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam said they will take all necessary measures for the hearing of the death references as early as possible.
