No gas supply in Kurmitola, Khilkhet for 8 hours
Supply will be suspended from 9am to 5pm on Monday
Gas supply to some parts of the capital has been suspended for 8 hours starting from 9am to 5pm on Monday.
The affected areas include Kurmitola General Hospital, Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden, Civil Aviation Quarter, Army Golf Club and several adjacent areas, according to a press statement from Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited (TGTDCL) issued on Sunday.
Gas pressure will also be low in Khilkhet and Nikunja areas for the duration of the 8 hours. The supply disruption is being caused by the ongoing relocation of the gas pipelines to facilitate the Metro Rail construction project in the area.
Confirming the matter, Titas Gas Operations Director Md Kamruzzaman Khan said: “Work related to the gas pipelines in the area has been done recently, gas supply must remain suspended while work is being done there.
“Normal supply will resume around 5pm on Monday. Earlier in May, gas supply was shut down three times in several parts of the capital due emergency work on pipelines.”
