Nine students detained for giving proxy in Satkhira

A mobile court today detained an invigilator and nine students for giving proxy to other examinees in the Primary Education Completion (PEC) examination at Sakhipur Alim Madrasa Examination Center in Satkhira's Debhata Upazila.

The detainees include invigilator Nurul Islam, a teacher of Parulia Shatantro Ibtedai Madrasa.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sajia Afreen said, "Acting on a tip-off that there are fake examinees acting as proxy for others, we conducted a drive and detained them."

"Those students took part in the examination with fake photos and signatures at the entrance," he added.

Debhata Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Biplob Kumar Saha said legal action will be taken against them.

The detainees were handed over to their families after primary interrogation.
