New schedule for trains in eastern zone from Friday
Railway authorities have taken every preparation to implement the new schedule
The Bangladesh Railway has set a new schedule for 26 trains operating in the eastern zone, which will come into effect from Friday.
Suborno Express – the Dhaka bound non-stop train – will depart from Chattogram Railway Station at 7am. Previously, the train left the Kamalapur Station in Dhaka for Chattogram at 3pm. Under the new schedule, it will leave Dhaka at 4:30pm for the port city.
From Chattogram, Dhaka-bound Mohanagar Express will depart at 12:30pm. The train will leave Dhaka for Chattogram at 9:20pm.
Sylhet-bound Jayantika Express will depart Dhaka at 11:15am. The train will leave Sylhet for Dhaka at 11:15pm.
Parabat Express will leave Dhaka for Sylhet at 6:20am. The train will leave Sylhet for Dhaka at 3:45pm.
Agnibina Express will depart Dhaka for Tarakandi at 11am and leave Tarakandi for the capital at 7:20pm. Kishoreganj Express will leave Dhaka at 10:45am. The train will leave Kishoreganj Station for Dhaka at 4pm.
Upaban Express will leave Dhaka at 8:30pm and Sylhet at 11:30pm. Jamuna Express will depart Dhaka at 4:45pm and leave Tarakandi at 2am. Brahmaputra Express will leave Dhaka at 6:15pm and leave Dewanganj Station at 6:40am.
Kalni Express will leave Sylhet at 6:15am and depart from Dhaka at 3pm. The Mohanganj-bound Haor Express will depart from Dhaka at 10:15pm and leave for Dhaka at 8am.
"We have taken every necessary step to implement the new schedule. Trains will operate according to the new schedule from January 5," said Nasir Uddin Ahmed, general manager of the railway's eastern zone.
