Navy distributes relief in 3 flood-hit areas of Manikganj

Some 890 families received dry food and medical supplies on Thursday

To tackle the nationwide flood situation, the Bangladesh Navy distributed food and medical supplies to three flood-hit areas in Shibaloy upazila of Manikganj on Thursday.  

The Navy distributed the relief to 890 local poor families in Shibaloy, Teota and Arua unions of the district, read an ISPR press release, adding that the families were in dire need of food, drinking water and medical treatment.

Each family was provided with rice, lentils, oil, sugar, puffed rice, molasses, salt, candles, matches, saline, water purification tablets and pure water as food aid.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer, local chairman and people's representatives of Shibaloy upazila were present during the distribution ceremony.

The Bangladesh Navy has regularly been carrying out such activities in remote areas to tackle the flood situation in the country, and such activities will continue until the situation improves.
