Students across the country are staging protest today demanding justice over Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) student Abrar Fahad murder.

In Rajshahi, Rajshahi University students brought out a procession on the campus at 11am demanding capital punishment for the killers of Abrar Fahad.

However, police barred them at Dhaka-Rajshahi highway while they tried to block the road leading to a scuffle between the police and students.

In Jashore, Bangladesh General Student Associations' Jashore unit formed a human chain at 12pm in front of press club demanding the highest punishment of the murderers.

In Tangail, students of Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University brought out a protest procession demanding justice for Abrar.

Students under the banner of General Students at All Levels also formed an hour long human chain in front of Tangail press club protesting the murder of Abrar.

In Mymensingh, several organisations including General Student's Right Protection Council and Bangladesh Communist party formed a human chain at Firoz-Jahangir circle demanding the immediate arrest of Abrar murderers.

In Narayanganj, Progressive Student Associations' Narayanganj unit formed a human chain at Shaheed Minar premises in the city demanding exemplary punishment for the murderers.

In Brahmanbaria, students from different colleges formed a human chain in front of press club at 12:30pm demanding capital punishment for the killers.

In Khulna, students from different institutes formed human chains and demonstrated under the banner of Aguyan-71, a students' organization. The students carried placards in protest of Abrar's murder and demanded exemplary punishment of the culprits.
