Narayanganj shipyard employee electrocuted at work

An official of a local shipbuilder died from electrocution while supervising works of a bulkhead in Narayanganj on Thursday.

The deceased is Md Bulbul Khan, 38, manager of the Euro Marine Ship Builders in Sonargaon.

The workers of the shipbuilder said Bulbul got electrocuted due to a faulty power line and fell on to the ground.

Locals and workers rushed him to the Sonargaon Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Workers claimed there were no space and measure needed to ensure a safe environment for workers in the shipyard.

Since a lot of ships are built at a time, electric wires are lying all around the place which might lead to accident any time, they added.
