MP Morshed Alam’s organisation fined over environment norms violation

The department of environment (DoE) fined Morshed Alam Complex, owned by member of parliament from Noakhali's Begumganj Morshed Alam, Tk5 lakh for breaking the condition of its environmental clearance certificate.

DoE Chattogram range Director Moyazzem Hossain also fined two other organisations and one person Tk 2.60 lakh after a hearing at the department premises on Monday.

"Three organisations and one person were fined under section 7 of the Bangladesh Environment Conservation Act, 1995," said DoE assistant director Muktadir Hasan.

AM Bricks of Noakhali's Begumganj upazila was fined Tk2 lakh for not renewing its environmental clearance certificate.

KS Salt Crashing of Chattogram's Boalkhali was fined Tk10,000 for breaking the condition of its environmental clearance certificate.

Md Aman Ullah was fined Tk50,000 for cutting hills in Cox'sBazar Sadr upazila.
