Moving bus catches fire in B’Baria
Four passengers of the bus were injured in the fire
A fire broke out in a moving bus on Comilla-Sylhet highway in Brahmanbaria's Sadar upazila on Sunday night.
Khatihata Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahbubur Rahman confirming the matter to The Business Standard said that the 'Tisha Paribahan' bus caught fire when it reached Betbaria area around 10:30pm shortly after some passengers got off at the Sarail-Bishwarad junction and crossed some distance.
Four passengers of the bus were injured in the fire, he said adding that the details about the injured could not be known immediately.
On information, a firefighting team rushed on the spot and doused the flame.
Meanwhile, vehicular movement on the highway came to a halt for more than half an hour following the incident
Sarail Fire Service Station officer-in-charge Riyaz Mohammad said it was primarily assumed that the reason behind the fire was overheating of the engine.
