Moudud laid to rest in Noakhali
BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed was laid to rest in his family graveyard in Noakhali.
He was buried beside the graves of his parents at 6.35pm after Maghrib prayer.
Earlier on the day, his body reached Kabirhat Government Model High School ground at 2.50pm on a helicopter from Dhaka.
The first Namaj-e-Janaja of the veteran BNP leader was held in his constituency at Kabirhat Government College at 3pm. Later the second Janaja was held at Basurhat Government Mujib College ground in Companiganj upazila and third one in front of his village home in Manikpur.
Thousands of people gathered to see the BNP politician for a glance prior to his arrival at the hometown.
Moudud Ahmed passed away while receiving treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore on 16 March.
