Mother, son crushed under train in Bogura

They were killed on the spot around 01.45pm when Felani tried to save her mentally disabled son

A woman and her son were crushed under the wheels of Dhaka-bound Lalmoni Express train near Kahaloo railway station in Bogura on Monday.

The deceased are Felani, 50, and her son Rajbabu, 28.

"They were killed on the spot around 01.45pm when mentally disabled Rajbabu was walking on the rail line, his mother went bring him back," Officer-in-charge of Kahaloo police station, Md Zia Latiful Islam and station master SM Atowar told the reporters. Meanwhile, Dhaka bound Lalmonirhat train entered the same line.

Although his mother tried her best to protect Rajababu, the high-speed train rammed over them both.

Kahaloo-Nandigram MP Md Musharraf Hossain demanded that the station should be secured, adding that the railway authorities should take necessary steps to secure the station so that such accidents do not happen in the future.
