All rail tickets for Western zone, most for Eastern sold out on 3rd day’s sale

All rail tickets to the western part of Bangladesh were sold out on the third day of the advance Eid ticket sales. 

Tickets for 5 April were made available on Tuesday (26 March), with the sale starting at 8am. 

"By 10:30am, 13,747 advance tickets were sold out of a total of 14,601 tickets for the western region," reads a statement of Shohoz, the railways' online ticketing partner.

It said the e-ticket website witnessed a record-breaking number of visitors during the peak hour between 8-8:30am, with traffic reaching 95.1 lakh hits, the highest this year. 

Additionally, for the Railway eastern region, 46.60 lakh views in the early hours of ticket sales for 5 April travel, with the sale starting at 2pm. 

Around 12,601 tickets out of a total of 16,022 tickets were sold as of 6pm for the eastern part of the country, said Kamalapur railway station master Masud Sarwar. 

"Today there was huge pressure for tickets for the Eid journey and all tickets for Western Zone sold out. Tickets for the Eastern zone are expected to be sold by tonight."
