Light rainfall was recorded in some parts of the country on Thursday and the Met Office has forecast more rain in the next 24 hours.

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) recorded light rainfall in Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalganj, Chattogram, Cumilla, Rajshahi, Ishwardi, Badalgachhi, Tarash, Khulna, Satkhira, Jashore, Chuadanga, Kumarkhali, Barishal, Patuakhali and Khepupara.

The day's lowest temperature was recorded at 10 degrees Celsius while the highest – 27.2C – in Teknaf of Cox's Bazar.

In its 24hour forecast commencing 9am, it said light rain or drizzle is likely to occur at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Barishal and Chattogram divisions.

Light to moderate fog may occur at some places during midnight to morning while night temperature may fall slightly over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions and it may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country.

Day temperature is likely to remain nearly unchanged.
