More housing projects for govt employees: PM
The premier made the pledge while inaugurating residential buildings for government employees at Dhaka's Eskaton.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the government will extend the housing facilities for its employees to the district and Upazila levels.
The premier made the pledge while inaugurating residential buildings for government employees at Dhaka’s Eskaton on Monday.
She said, “The government has built the flats with all modern facilities including fire safety, swimming pool and office space.”
“The housing facilities for the government employees have been raised by 40 percent which was only 8 percent before,” she added.
Sheikh Hasina also said that the government has a plan to build rent-system flats for the slum people at a nominal rent.
The Prime Minister said, “There will be an option for them to pay the rent of flats in daily, weekly and monthly basis.”
She said her government will provide housing facilities to every citizen of the country.
“No one will be homeless or landless,” said the premier.
The Prime Minister requested the architects and engineers of the country to design and build any infrastructure compatible with the environment of the country.
She urged them not to fill the canals and other water bodies of Dhaka while making development projects.
“Necessary measures have been taken to reduce the waterlogging of the capital,” she added.
