Dhaka district administration has conducted a mobile court operation in Old Dhaka's Bangshal area on Wednesday to ensure Covid-19 health guidelines at public places in order to curb coronavirus infection.

The mobile court, led by Executive Magistrate Md Mamunur Rashid, was conducted in various markets, restaurants, and supershops in the area on Wednesday.

He said, "Although more people are aware of hygiene rules than before, some people still do not want to follow hygiene rules. We are here to detain them."

"This mobile court operation is an ongoing process," said Mamunur Rashid adding, "Currently, we are just imposing fine but in future the punishment can include jail term as well."

He urged everyone to abide by the hygiene rules.
