Missing journo Mushfiqur found blindfolded in Sunamganj

The journalist lodged a complaint with Pallabi Police Station on July 22, a day after receiving a death threat.

Mohona TV journalist FM Mushfiqur Rahman who went missing from the capital on Saturday was found blindfolded in Sadar upazila of Sunamganj district early Tuesday.

The imam of a local mosque found Mushfiqur near the mosque at Gobindapur village around 4am, said Abdur Rouf, news editor of the private television channel.

On information, police rescued him and took him to Sadar Hospital, he said.

Quoting Mushfiqur, Rouf said the abductors beat him and kept him starved since his abduction, and dropped him near the mosque blindfolded.

Mushfiqur went missing on Saturday evening when he was returning home from Gulshan-1 in the capital after meeting his uncle. A general diary was later filed with Gulshan Police Station.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Sunday directed police to take immediate steps to rescue the missing TV journalist.
