Mind Aid Hospital, where Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anisul Karim Shipon was murdered, was being run without any psychiatric, said police.

The hospital in the capital's Adabor area, was being run by the board of directors, co-ordinators, co-managers and ward boys, said Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Tejgaon Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Harun-Ur-Rashid in briefing at 12pm today.

Besides, the hospital does not have any license from the Department of Narcotics and legal documents, which are mandatory to run a mental hospital, said the police official.

He said the hospital's board of directors was running the hospital with coordinators, managers and ward boys and they do not study medicine.

"We have arrested everyone. Now they will be questioned on remand," said Harun.

Those who took the senior ASP to that room are not doctors. The way they tortured ASP Anisul shows that it is a big murder, he added further.

The hospital has one patient. It will be closed when the patient will leave the hospital.

Anisul Karim, a senior assistant superintendent of police died at 'Mind Aid Hospital' some moments after he went to the hospital for treatment.

His family members claimed that the hospital staffers beat him to death.

Police have also collected CCTV footage from the hospital of the incident.

It was seen that at around 11:55 pm, police officer Anisul Karim was dragged into a room by several staff. He was thrown to the ground by six employees of the hospital. Then, two more employees dressed in blue grabbed his leg. At that time, two employees on the side of the head were hitting him with their elbows. Arif Mahmud, the manager of the hospital, was standing next to him. Anisul's hands were tied behind her back with a piece of blue cloth.
When Anisul was turned upside down four minutes later, his body was numb. An employee then splashed water on his face. Anisul Karim was not moving even then. The staff then cleaned the floor of the room. Seven minutes later a woman wearing a white apron entered the room. The door of the room was closed in 11 minutes. She pumped his chest in 13 minutes and failed to regain his sense.

Meanwhile, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jan-e Alam Mia said Anisul died before being brought to the Institute of Cardiology. 'Brought dead' was written in the report of the hospital.
