Saudi Embassy in Dhaka to hold monthly meeting to address expats’ issues

The Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment and the Saudi Embassy in Dhaka will jointly arrange a meeting per month to accelerate the recruitment process of Bangladeshi expat workers to the gulf nation.

The decision was made as a discussion over workers' welfare between the Overseas Minister Imran Ahmed and Saudi Ambassador Essa Yousef Essa Alduhailan held on Thursday, reads a press release. 

They talked over various issues including visa processing and delivery of smart cards to Bangladeshi workers in the shortest possible time. They also discussed employment at minimum immigration cost and prevention of fraudulent middlemen in the recruitment process.

Among others, Ahmed Munirush Salehin, secretary of the ministry and the director general of the Bureau of Manpower , Employment and Training (BMET) were present in the meeting.

Imran Ahmed MP said that the government has taken various initiatives to ensure fair labour migration.

Initiative has been taken to build one hundred more technical training centres, including specialized training centres of international standard built to supply skilled workers in the international labour market.

Essa Yusuf Essa Alduhailan addressed Bangladesh as a brotherly Muslim majority country and said that Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia have an amicable relation. He also praised the Bangladeshi workers and pledged Saudi Arabia will ensure that workers can travel to Saudi Arabia without any hassle.
