Bangladeshi expats get Saudi visa extension without fee

Bangladeshi expatriate workers in Saudi Arabia will get a three-month extension to their work permit (iqama) – expiring between March 18 and June 30 – automatically and free of charge.

The iqama period will be extended online and they need not personally contact any offices for this, said a press release issued by the Bangladesh Embassy's labour welfare wing in Riyadh on Wednesday, quoting the Saudi government.

The Saudi authorities also asked expatriates, who obtained exit and re-exit visas or final exit-visas but could not leave because of the temporary suspension of entry and exit to and from the country, to quickly cancel them before their expiry. 

The Saudi government has also requested Bangladeshi expatriates, who came back home and could not return under the current situation, to contact their kafils (sponsors) to extend their visas.
