UP member shot dead in Jashore

A union parishad member has been killed as miscreants opened fire on him near Baburhat area under Abhaynagar upazila of the district. 

The victim is Noor Ali, 50, member of  Shuvorara union under ward 2. Noor Ali's son Ibrahim, 16, also sustained bullet injury during the attack. He has been admitted to a local hospital of the district.

Abhaynagar Police Station's Officer-in-Charge (investigation) Milon Kuman Mandal said Noor along with his son was returning home on a bike after attending a programme on 7 March. Unidentified terrorists opened fire on them from close range. The bullet hit Noor Ali in the head and he died on the spot.

Police are working to unravel the reason behind the murder, said the police officer.
