A maximum of 20 persons will be allowed in a mosque at a time to attend the daily five times prayers amid a set of government restrictions imposed in the country to curb the Covid-19 infections.
The new directive will come into effect from 14 April and will continue until further notice, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs on Monday.
In Tarabi prayer, 20 devotees including Khatib, Imam, Hafez, Muazzin and Khadim will be allowed to participate. In the case of Jummah prayer, worshipers will participate maintaining social distance and hygiene rules.
The ministry requested the local administration, law enforcement agencies, officials and employees of the Islamic Foundation and the management committee of the concerned mosques to implement the guidelines to prevent the spread of the deadly coronavirus.
