Dr Khan also claimed that a syndicate has been tarnishing image of Max Hospital

Managing Director of Max Hospital Dr Liakot Ali Khan denied the allegation of negligence in stillbirth case.

He denied the allegation during a press conference in Chattogram on Tuesday.

Yousuf Alam Masud, husband of Sharmin who lost their baby during childbirth, filed the case on Sunday against Dr Liakot Ali Khan, Consultant Dr Afroza Ferdous and Dr AHM Rakibul Huque of the Max Hospital.

Dr Liaquat Ali Khan said Sharmin was under the supervision of Dr Afroza Ferdous of Max Hospital. But she was taken to Metropolitan Hospital for delivery and another doctor delivered her baby. Sharmin's parents did not communicate with Dr Afroza at that time.

On June 5, Sharmin had an ultrasound test done and Dr Afroza fixed December 11 for the probable delivery. Later, Dr Afroza deferred the delivery date to December 17 following another ultrasound examination on October 10.

On December 1, Sharmin went for a regular medical check-up in the Max Hospital. Dr Afroza prescribed her some medicines and suggested an ultrasonography test. Sharmin had an ultrasound examination done on that night by Dr AHM Rakibul Huque. The physician said the position of the baby was right.

Dr Khan also claimed that a syndicate has been tarnishing image of Max Hospital.
