Man electrocuted while cleaning water tank of N’ganj mosque

A man died of electrocution after he came in contact with a live electric wire while cleaning an overhead water tank of a mosque in Baburail area of Narayanganj on Friday.

The deceased, Monir Hossain, a plumber, climbed atop the water tank and accidentally came in contact with a dangling cable of a nearby transformer while was removing an iron bar at the time of cleaning the mosque's water tank, Md Asaduzzaman, officer-in-Charge of Sadar Model Police Station, told The Business Standard.

Munir was burnt to death on the spot and Solaiman, muezzin at the mosque, was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital immediately with severe burn injury.
