Man commits suicide in mosque after prayer in Satkhira

A man has committed suicide by hanging himself inside a mosque in Satkhira on Sunday evening.

The deceased is Jalil Moral, 37, hailing from Aladipur village under Tala union. Jalil was a van driver by profession.

Bablur Rahman, a neighbour of the deceased said that people found the body hanging from the ceiling fan at around 7 pm on Sunday when they went to perform Maghrib prayer on the second floor of the mosque.

He said that Jalil had tried to commit suicide several times before. He tried to hang himself trice and once he drank poison.

Victim's brother-in-law Yunus Ali Moral said, "We do not know the exact reason behind his suicide. However, he had tried to commit suicide before."

Tala police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mehedi Rasel said, "Police went to the spot after receiving information from the locals. It was initially learned that Jalil committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in a local mosque."
