Mahbub Uz Zaman new ambassador to China
Currently, Zaman is serving as Secretary (Asia and Pacific) to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka
The government has decided to appoint Mahbub Uz Zaman as the new Ambassador of Bangladesh to the People’s Republic of China.
Currently, Zaman is serving as Secretary (Asia and Pacific) to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka.
He is going to replace the current Ambassador Fazlul Karim shortly, according to a press release issued by the ministry on Wednesday.
Zaman belongs to the 1985 batch of the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Foreign Affairs cadre.
Earlier, he served as High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Singapore and to Sri Lanka.
In his diplomatic career of over 30 years, he worked in the Bangladesh Permanent Missions to the United Nations in Geneva and in New York, as well as in the Bangladesh Missions in Tokyo, Ottawa and New Delhi.
Zaman got his Bachelor (Honours) and Master’s degrees in Economics from the University of Dhaka.
He also did diplomas in French Language and International Relations from Belgium.
