Madrasa teacher jailed for torturing student in B’baria
A madrasa teacher has been jailed for six months in a case filed for carrying out physical assault on a student in Brahmanbaria.
Masud Parvej, judge of the chief judicial magistrate's court of Brahmanbaria, handed down the verdict on Thursday, said Quazi Md Didarul Alam, officer-in-charge of Brahmanbaria court police.
The convict – Moin Uddin, 42 – is a teacher of Karimiya Keratul Quran Hafizia Madrasa of the district town.
According to the case statement, he tortured a student – Md Ibrahim, son of Abdul Malek of Ramrail of Sadar upazila – in phases on 11 and 13 August of 2018.
After the student disclosed the matter to his mother, she filed a case against the teacher with the court of the chief judicial magistrate on 19 August.
As the allegations were substantiated, the court jailed him for six months.
He was sent to jail upon completion of the verdict announcement.
