Liberation War Museum organises, plans array of programmes throughout March

The Liberation War Museum is organising an array of programmes throughout March to celebrate its Silver Jubilee, the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh's independence and the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The musuem is completing its 25 year's journey on 22 March, while Bangladesh is completing its 50 years of independence on 26 March.

The museum began its month-long celebration by observing the Golden Jubilee of the 7 March, commemorating the landmark speech of Bangabandhu, reads a press release on 13 March.

On 12 March the museum organised a virtual international conference on 'Commemorating Past Genocide and Learning to Prevent Atrocity Crimes.' 77 speakers from 27 countries participated in the conference in 26 working sessions.

Besides, Liberation War Museum organised a three-day—14, 15, 16 March— band music festival titled musical festival titled 'Muktir Joygan' to inform the new generation about the glorious history of the liberation war warfare. A total of 15 music bands, including Meghdol, Warfez, Nemesis participated in the event.

To celebrate the 101st birth anniversary of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the museum has announced to organise a children's programme from 10am to 1pm.

On the eve of the Libration Was Museum's Silver Jubilee, teachers and students from the Department of Fine Arts at the University of Development Alternative (UDA) will decorate and color the surrounding streets of the museum on 21 March.

Moreover, the next day, a programme marking the museum's Silver Jubilee will be arranged at its auditorium and virtual media, where Dr Sarwar Ali and Asaduzzaman Noor, MP trustees of the museum will give speches. In addition, Sara Jaker, trustee and member-secretary will present the annual report.

On the evening of 25 March, the staff of the Liberation War Museum, members of the martyr's family will pay homage to the martyrs by lighting candles.

A two-day programme has been planned on the occasion of Genocide Day and Independence Day—25 and 26 March— at Jalladkhana memorial, run by the Liberation War Museum.

The museum's programmes for March will come to an end on Independence Day with a march from Central Shaheed Minar to National Martyrs' Memorial at Savar.
